Julie heads up charity development, impact and partnerships at Governors for Schools, a leading national charity in education. Prior to this Julie’s career was in the private sector leading on strategic business development and project delivery, while spending many years overseas. Julie volunteered as a co-opted governor at Mary Exton, wishing to support a small, local primary school and collectively work to achieve the best possible outcomes for all pupils. Julie lives in Hertfordshire with her partner and three children.

Jenny worked for 39 years in primary education as well as being a governor of a large secondary school for seven years. In May 2012, a few months after retiring, I began volunteering at Mary Exton. During the Spring Term of 2014, I was invited to join the governing board as a co-opted governor. With Jenny's previous experience in education, she has a lot of experience to offer. Jenny is interested in all aspects of the work of the governing board and especially enjoys being part of the Mary Exton School community. |
Julia became a Co-opted Governor in October 2021. Julia has lived in Hitchin all her life and her nephew attends Mary Exton school. Julia passionately believes a child’s experience in primary school can determine their whole future and she is therefore keen to support primary education that promotes positive, caring, kind and inclusive values whilst delivering good academic results. Julia works for a global professional services firm, her role is leading a team providing risk management and insurance advice to UK public sector entities. |
